    I think it is because we are fundamentally studying two different mathematical models from different natural phenomena. Based on what I understood you require an exchange component to properly obtain the Hartree-Fock solution which involves two different ways of defining independent electron solutions. In contrast, in classical mechanics, the independent particle solution has only one definition(I might have misunderstood something in the process).
