Using quantum physics, a solid can be easily understood but applying the quantum analysis on solid is a rigorous task. In a solid there is many type of interaction, for quantum analysis all those interaction for all possible pairs are to be consider. Even after applying approximation, to solve a system of solid using direct quantum physics is not possible.
